On October 11th, myself, Rod Lorenz, and Laura Tirone met with Lois. As many of you are aware, Lois has been experiencing health issues that have made it near impossible to play the organ or piano. After prayer, conversations, and support; Lois announced her retirement- effective that day.

Over these last weeks as I have considered Lois and  the partnership I’ve shared with her, I keep coming back to the words of St. Paul:

I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

My guess, an assumption can be made that very few congregations can rejoice in having a church musician for nearly 42 years. My entire career has been a partnership with Lois!

Lois’ years of service truly speak of her passion, dedication, and love for music and praise to our great God in Christ. We thank God for her and rejoice in her Spirit filled contributions to this faith family! The years, the energy… it doesn’t go un-noticed and certainly won’t go unnoticed!  Lois has impacted St. John’s in remarkable ways and her ministry will be an example for so many to come.

We keep Lois in our prayers as she continues to maneuver through health issues. Please also, keep St. John’s in your prayers as we seek a new music director.
